Vera Zvonareva faces Petra Kvitova in the quarter finals of the 2011 Australian Open

Watch and bet on Zvonareva v Kvitova live at Bet365>livestreaming>tennis from 23:00 GMT on Monday

Vera Zvonareva is the number two seed at the 2011 Australian Open and the Russian is playing like she could finally break her Grand Slam duck in Melbourne, after having been a beaten finalist at Wimbledon and the US Open last year.

She shouldn’t have any problems beating Czech left hander Petra Kvitova in the quarter finals on Monday night, which could set up a mouth-watering semi final with Kim Clijsters, should the Belgian win her matches.

Zvonareva is 1.57 at BetFred to beat Kvitova and it is perhaps surprising to see odds as long as that for the world number two. The number 26 seed may have beaten Sam Stosur earlier in the tournament, but the Australian simply didn’t turn up and play to her full capacity in that match, with the fourth round match against Flavia Pennetta, which Kvitova won in three sets, a far better indication of the 20-year-old’s ability.

Zvonareva seems to have developed a new mental strength in the last 6 months and she now wins matches she should win, when playing at the big tournaments. She is 2.38 at BetFred to beat Kvitova in straight sets, as she did in their only previous meeting on hard courts, although there is always the potential for her opponent to raise her game enough to force a decider and a 2-1 win for the Russian is available at 4.0 with Paddy Power.

Win Market – Vera Zvonareva (1.57, BetFred)
