Nicolas Almagro was pushed to five sets by Igor Andreev in the last round of the Australian Open and needed four to beat Stephane Robert in the first round. It could be another epic match in Melbourne on Friday for the Spaniard, when he faces Ivan Ljubicic.

Ljubicic is an ATP Tour veteran and former world number 3. He then plummeted down the rankings, before an excellent season in 2010 saw the Croat move back into the top 20 and at 31-years-old, he is arguably back to playing his best tennis. He fights for every ball and belies his years when on court and that could cause problems for Almagro, who isn’t totally comfortable when not playing on clay.

It is 1.83 at Bet365 that Ljubicic beats the 14th seed on Friday and it wouldn’t be a shock, although Almagro won't go down without a fight.
