Andy Roddick takes on Fernando Gonzalez in Sunday's evening game on Rod Laver Arena.

Roddick, seeded seventh in Melbourne, is the 1/3 favourite to progress to the last sixteen, but faces a tough opponent in Gonzalez.

The Chilean was made to fight hard for a fight set win over Kazak Evgeny Korolev (6-7 6-3 1-6 6-3 6-4) in the last round. He was forced to come from behind twice and will not be able to let that happen against Roddick.

Roddick goes into the match after big win over Feliciano Lopez of Spain and knows that he has a tough task ahead of him against 9/4 Gonzalez.

"He's a very dangerous player," said Roddick of his opponent on Sunday. "Some days he comes out, looks like he's playing ping pong the way he can sling the ball around."

Gonzalez said of their Sunday evening clash: "It's going to be tough. For sure I have to play better if I want to beat him. He's playing a good level."

Roddick leads their head-to-head meetings 8-3.
