Rafael Nadal is up against rising star Bernard Tomic in round three of the Australian Open

Rafael Nadal completed another routine rout in round two, beating his American opponent Ryan Sweeting in straight sets. He’s up against Australian youth prospect Bernard Tomic in round three, in a match that is likely to excite the home crowd. Entering the tournament there were many who doubted the decision to hand Tomic a wildcard, though he’s proved his worth with two successive straight sets victories.

Tomic’s success against Feliciano Lopez was particularly notable, though he’ll have to work even harder to test the World No. 1. The Aussie seems to be in a positive mood ahead of the match though. When asked if he could win, Tomic replied, “I believe so. I mean, it’s an opportunity that I get. He’s the world No. 1. I’ll have a go”.

Nadal is expected to win this one, though he confessed recently that he will feel a little anxious when the match begins. “I gonna be nervous, if you want, ten minutes before the match and when the match start”. “But two days ago, before, if I start to be nervous two days ago, I have a big problem, I think”.
