Andy Murray gets “Grim Reaper” Nickname

After Andy Murray not only finished off Pavel ‘s Australian open 09 chances, but his tennis career entirely in their first round clash. Journalists worldwide have subsequently nicknamed the 4th seeded Scot the “Grim Reaper”.

Pavel announced his retirement from tennis after having to forfeit the game after only 45 minutes due to back pain.

“I don't want to damage my health — I've played enough tournaments," said the personable Romanian Pavel, who once drove from Paris to Germany for the birth of his child in the middle of the French Open.

Murray responded to his new nickname by saying "I played the South African Neville Godwin in a Challenger in Manchester a few years ago and that turned out to be the last match he ever played," Murray added. "I'm sorry it turned out this way for Pavel too."

The Grim Reaper is sharpening his scythe for Marcel Granollers in the second round of the Australian open.
