Stan James have Rafa Nadal as the new 11/8 favourite for the Australian Open after his half of the draw was theoretically made easier following Murray's defeat.
"We went up 1/12 Murray and 6s Verdasco but there was money for the left hander before the off and we went 1/8 and 5s on the off," said Stan James' Charlie McCann.
"We kept Murray on our side and the bottom line is that it is a poor result for us and a chastening one for Murray who had never been beaten by a left-handed player other than Nadal on the ATP Tour.
"Verdasco is 33/1 for the title but he is likely to have to beat Tsonga, Nadal and Federer and that is probably two games too many."
