There were no surprises when the seedings were released earlier today with Djokovic topping the list. 2009 champion Rafa Nadal is seeded second and four-time champion Roger Federer is third, having leapfrogged Andy Murray in the rankings by claiming the ATP World Tour Finals title at the end of 2011.

Murray is seeded fourth and their will be much attention focused on his exploits in Melbourne after his headline making decision to join forces with Ivan Lendl.

Keep an eye out for Janko Tipsarevic (seeded 9) who's in the form of his life right now and big serving Milos Raonic (seeded 23) who stormed to the Chennai title last week.

Juan Martin Del Potro (seeded 11th) could be a threat on the medium paced hard courts of Melbourne provided he can get sufficient match practise in Sydney this week.

And could we see something special from French duo Gael Monfils (seeded 14th) or Richard Gasquet (seeded 17th). Neither has ever done much at the Australian Open in the past but both men look very sharp right now with Monfils defeating Nadal in Doha last week.

Leading Aussie hope Bernard Tomic just missed the seeding cut and will be one of the most dangerous floaters in the draw.
