Pinnacle Review

Background

Pinnacle Sports was founded in 1998. The sportsbook is licensed in the Netherlands Antilles and accepts bets from customers all over the world. After their inception, Pinnacle quickly identified an opportunity to provide tighter margins than the vast majority of competitors and, once the customer base had grown, they start to raise their wagering limits to some of the highest in the industry.

Pinnacle now have customers from over 100 countries and are renowned for being the first sportsbook to introduce a reduced margin pricing model, guaranteeing the best odds, something that they claim are up to 60% better value than other bookmakers.

Website (9)

Pinnacle have a nice straightforward website which is at pains to highlight how good their odds are compared to other bookmakers due to the unique approach that they take to pricing. It’s a no frills homepage which lists the sports in a left-hand menu, with customers also able to select ‘Special Betting Events’ and ‘Next Up’ which helpfully allows punters to get a quick bet away without having to hunt around for it.

Pinnacle’s site is quite Americanised which means that fractional odds aren’t available and ‘football’ refers to American football rather than soccer. The markets are laid out in a fairly plain fashion and it’s clear that they cater for customers who simply want to place bets nice and quickly rather than browse around the site and ponder over what selection to make.

Live betting is available and the interface is not a particularly dynamic one, although again the focus is on betting to tight margins rather than the site looking pretty.

Odds and Markets (10)

Pinnacle Sports certainly do take a unique approach to bookmaking and you will not find better odds and higher limits anywhere else. Although the range of markets is often limited, especially for sports outside the north American radar, it’s quite a commitment to bet to such low margins across the board and they are happy to illustrate how much better their prices are compared to many of their competitors.

Indeed, their lack of new customer free bet is made more tolerable by the prices on show and Pinnacle Sports average a margin of 103% for all sporting markets which is significantly better than the 108% that’s the industry average. However, if you’re looking for a bigger range of sports, especially with more of a UK or European focus, this can be found elsewhere.

Customer Service (10)

You can visit the Help section to read up on the various Sportsbook FAQ’s, along with the bets offered, the odds explained and the various limits that are on offer. The customer service team are on hand 24/7 to deal with any queries you may have and recommend that you include your client ID when you send an email. Unfortunately there is no telephone support available.

Introductory Offer (9)

Verdict

Pinnacle are very much seen as a bookmaker for high rollers, as can be seen by their no frills website, their huge $500 bonus and the fact that they charge for more than one monthly withdrawal. However, if you’re somebody who wants the fiercest price on a sporting event every time, it may well be worth checking these guys out, especially if you love your NFL and college football.
